La Viña Escondida is made from clusters of an old 65-year-old Garnacha vineyard located on a very well-traveled hill. It is a very delicate wine, has many nuances floral, vegetables, low mountain and marked minerality.
The top of an old garnacha vineyard is the origin of this wine. The vines are 65 years old. Harvest Manual and collected in boxes of small quantity (7kg). Maceration prefermentativa in cold, traditional treading during the fermentation in open tanks without use of pumps. Whole clusters. Aged 18 months in fudre of 2000 liters of French oak.
Ruby red color, clean, bright and lively. Middle layer. The nose is elegant and subtle. Predominant notes of cherries, violets, smoked, plums, incense, raspberry, blackberry and wood well assembled with mineral sparkles.
In the mouth it reveals fresh and ample. Its taste runs through the mouth with surprising elegance and full of mineral aromas. Fresh and persistent. Combine with rice and stews.

Bodegas Canopy is a young project born in 2004 on the initiative of two winemaking friends with very different personalities, Alfonso Chacón Gil and Belarmino Fernández Bombín.
At that time the D.O. Méntrida (Toledo) did not enjoy a good reputation. Traditionally specialized in bulk production, there were hardly any wineries where quality wines were bottled. However, Alfonso and Belarmino opted for it because it fulfilled two indispensable conditions for its purposes: an old vineyard based on the Garnacha variety and some land with certain special characteristics.
Alfonso and Belarmino have implemented a minimally interventionist sustainable viticulture that allows siliceous-granitic soils to be fully expressed. In Canopy they are convinced that they have to explore the differentiating character of the raw material, Garnacha. Therefore, they use barrels of greater volume -500, 700, 1,500 and 2,000 liters – because they believe that the wood should only accompany and enhance the fruit, improving its freshness and enhancing the minerality of these unique wines.
