Suzanne is the true reflection of what this variety means in Riojan soils. It is a tribute to the respect and curiosity that Oxer has for this variety. Its name comes from the mythical song by Leonard Cohen in which he praises the role of women.
Oxer Bastegieta is a young Basque winemaker who opted for Laguardia as the center of a new approach to Rioja wines but without leaving behind his roots in the world of txacoli.
Oxer’s claim is to create superlative wines with old vines from two sub-zones of the D.O.Ca. Rioja, Rioja Alavesa and Rioja Alta, in the municipalities of Elvillar and Cárdenas.
Work those vineyards in an organic way and maximum respect for the environment. In the cellar the minimum is intervened so that the wines express absolutely the terroir.
